The Frank Burkitt Band with Kara Filbey and guests - Koha Entry

Frank is a story teller, songwriter, singer and guitarist. In that order. He has been performing for the last 15 years throughout the UK, New Zealand and Australia and his entertaining, rambling anecdotes aim to give the audience more of a connection with his songs. A folk songwriter at his core, American roots music with hints of jazz, blues and swing very much shape his music. When he relocated to Wellington from Edinburgh with his partner and backing vocalist Kara Filbey, he formed an incredible string band, with blues and country mandolin player Cameron Burnell and jazz double bassist James Geluk.

The Frank Burkitt Band have made incredible progress in the last 4 years, releasing their debut album Fools & Kings in 2015 and becoming a festival favourite throughout New Zealand. They have embarked on extensive national tours of New Zealand and Australia and released their second album Raconteur in March 2018 at Port Fairy Folk Festival (Aus).
The album was produced by acclaimed producer Gerry Paul (Grada, Tim O'Brien, Mel Parsons) and recorded at The Surgery Studios, Wellington by award winning engineer Lee Prebble (Pheonix Foundation, The Black Seeds, Fly My
Pretties).

Inspired by artists such as Van Morrison, James Taylor, Tim O'Brien and Pokey LaFarge, they play high energy, original music written by Burkitt and arranged by the band.

Luke Fox - NZ Tour. $10 Tickets : www.undertheradar.co.nz

Hailing from South West Australia, Luke Fox has sold out venues, supported his favourite touring artists and played major festivals in just 18 months on stage. the Firefighter turned Musician now brings his breezy feels and honest storytelling to NZ, playing solo shows across the country.

Saturday Oct 26, Dog with Two Tails, Dunedin
Supported by Lacuna
pre sales via UTR

Luke delivers roots songwriting with pop sensibilities; an honest, laid-back swagger deriving from his regional small town upbringing. A bedroom musician for some time, it was playing acoustic gigs whilst travelling, a memorable evening in the village of Ericeira, Portugal and some seriously good luck, which inspired Luke to finally share his music at home.

It's since been an enjoyable ride for Luke; winning TripleJ's 2017 Groovin' The Moo competition, supporting artists including Lime Cordiale, Hollow Coves, Abbe May and Riley Pearce, songs featured by global brand STA Travel and popular Netflix series Terrace House as well as launching debut EP 'Sugarloaf' at the 2018 Nannup Folk Festival.

Recorded by Matt Gio (Birds of Tokyo, San Cisco) and mastered by Willy Bowden (Gotye, Paul Dempsey), The Sugarloaf EP is a tribute to home, to authenticity and to the ironic problem of feeling lost when able to have everything.

Matt Joe Gow (NZ Album Launch) w/ Jo Little & Jared Smith. $15. Tickets www.mattjoegow.com/tour

Matt Joe Gow

From Day On The Green to boutique Americana festivals, from shows with Marlon Williams to Justin Townes Earle, Matt Joe Gow has built a simmering credibility to go along side the authentic Alt Country tones. Fresh off a tour with Grant Lee Phillips and an Age Music Victoria Nomination for Best Country Album, Dunedin born troubadour Matt Joe Gow, brings his roaring Americana sound back to Dunedin for the release of his highly anticipated album "Break, Rattle And Roll".

Jo Little & Jared Smith

Jo Little & Jared Smith sound like they belong on stage in the deep south of America, there is a nostalgic feel about their music that’s familiar even though you have never heard it before. Smith’s guitar is a well worn instrument and you can see why when he performs, the strings moan and cry between verses, tastefully showing a restraint that allows the music to speak for itself. Little’s velvety smooth and agile vocals skillfully
harmonize with Smith’s more smoky and gruff tones, expertly weaving catchy hooks through songs inspired by the ups and downs of love and their life on the road. Their debut album "Live At The Boathouse" is out now.

Tickets : https://www.undertheradar.co.nz/utr/show/SID/61787/N/Michael-Dunstan.utr

Recently Nationally touring the newly released EP 'Partly Cloudy' through Australia, with sold out shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, Michael is headed for beautiful New Zealand for the 'Partly Cloudy' New Zealand Tour!

Saturday the 6th of October, Dog With Two Tails, Dunedin.
With Special Guest Bexy Shingleton Music

Characterised by warm soulful vocals, intricate fingerpicking, and up-beat foot stomping grooves, Michael’s dynamic live soundscape has stopped audiences in their tracks Australia wide in the last 12 months. The debut EP ‘Solace’ quickly gained traction for the young folk musician, now collectively accumulating well over 1.3 million streams on Spotify alone since release, along the journey supporting Ziggy Alberts, Riley Pearce and Caravana Sun.

The second installment ‘Partly Cloudy’ delves deeper, more personal and more diverse. The 5 tracks explore strong feelings of disbelief, the fear of the unknown, gratitude, heartache and the inability to comprehend the depth of our surrounds and everything entailed in day to day life.
